3 stitches (13 may 09)

13 may 7.30 pm

** This is going to be very lengthy as it was really a "dramatic" night

Charlie ran and hit her head right at the edge of the pillar at the void deck this evening when beth sent yy to his enrichment class down stair. By the time I reached home which is an hr later, beth has put a plaster over it but it is still bleeding. My girl was siting on the sofa happily enjoying her TV. Beth said that she was crying hard and bled alot earlier. Lucky we removed the plaster as it was only then I realised that the wound was so deep in about 0.5cm depth and abt 1.5cm long.

I brought her to the family doc. The doc told us to go direct to KK hospital for stitching up instead. By the time we reached KK, it was already 10.00pm . We waited till 11.30 pm for our turn to see the doc. Throughout the whole time, charlie was well and happy except when we touched her wound. The doc gave us 2 options. 1 is to inject anesthetic and let her sleep while the doc sew up the wound for her. The 2nd is to put numbing gel for 1/2 hr then stitch up the wound. We have initially opt for anesthetic as she started to tear once the doc touched her forehead. But after considering she has to go without any drink till 1 pm (3 hrs from 10pm ie her last slip of water) and after that, we can only leave after she woke up from the effect of the anesthetic which is at least another 2 hrs. We decided to opt for the second choice. Eventually we wait and wait. It was only by 1 pm before the doc see us again.

This is "best" part of the night, we went to the room where there was a small bed with belt like strap. We are being told that we only have to hold on to her when she is being stitch up not tight on the bed ! but there is no backing out at that point of time. Charlie was so traumatized when she was being tight on the bed. On top of that, the nurses even wrapped her up with a blanket and tugged the side beneath her body. I was also needed to hold her tight by resting my arms on her chest. Poor charlie she was trying real hard to struggle off and keep crying for me to carry her up. It's really pain me to see her going through all these. Fortunately the whole process only last for 5 min including the initial part where the doc has attempted 3 x before the first stitch was done properly. By the time we left the hospital it was already 1.30pm

14 may (1st day)

My silly gal happily posting for pic the next morning. Lucky she did not have any nightmare last night.

pic taken on the next day after the bandage is removed. The redness on her forehead is caused by the bandage which is to be removed after 24 hrs. My first thought was charlie will look like a scientific monster, Frankenstein, if the stitch is horizontally across and much longer (touch wood touch wood). Video taken on end of 1st night.
