chalet at Downtown east (30-31 may)

bao bao yi yi booked 2 rooms at Downtown East today. Thanks to her we get to enjoy some sun and fun staying overnight at the chalet with all the kids.

Janice and our family reached the beach at 3pm. (all supposed to meet at the same time, played out by the rest of them)

Some of the activities carried out :

Digging and searching at the beach. Wonder why they need the big rod ?

They found some seashells.

Charlie doing a magic trick which she learn from the cartoon "magic me".
After she removed her hat from her head, she will say "rabbit"

The adventurous janice playing with the dog.

My daring charlie touching the worms digged out by janice earlier. So disgusting apparently there are many worms in the sand and some are really big and fat.

The kids playing a game of frisbee. This is charlie first attempt.

Charlie has so much fun playing at the beach.

po po is resting at the same time guarding our properties.

The kids leaving their footprint behind.....

we left for the chalet shortly after the rest came. We had BBQ that night.

The next morning, we had breakfast at McD the kids' fav.

followed by a walk at the mangrove swamp. so hot and charlie was scared of the noise maked by the cricket or .....

she can be so stubborn (29 may)

Charlie dont have much appetite despite she has fully recovered from her fever. She has refused to eat or drink for the past few days no matter what we gave her. I started to believe that she is just pushing her limit. Therefore I decided not to give in anymore.
At lunchtime, told beth that she is not allowed to leave the chair if she did not finish her meal. She was left on the chair where yy watched tv and played with the toys.
The stubborn girl just sit there refusing to give in.
Could u imagine that she actually just remained at her seat till she fell asleep. I guess it is really boring to just sit on the chair for so long :P

fever 39.8 deg C (23 may)

yy was down with fever on friday evening. The temp went up to 39.8 deg C. After attending to him for 2 nights, both charlie and I were sick too. All 3 of us are down with fever, flu and cough. Levin was on reservice for 2 weeks if not he would be down too.
medicines on 23 may

medicines on 25 may (1 bottle was absent from the pic). u dont see much increase except for the pills cos charlie was taking the same medicine as yy.

Reading habit (23 may)

It has been a while since charlie drawn on books and walls already. Thanks goodness she has "quit" the habit. Even better, she has picked up the habit of flipping books nicely and going through them and her favour is Elmo character book.

Bread (17 may 09)

Both yy and charlie will eat the crust of the bread first, leaving the soft portion last.

For yy, he is "leaving the best for the last". He will munch off the crust slowly and "painfully" trying hard to swallow it.

As for charlie, she belongs to the group of people who will "eat the best part first". She loves the outer crust of the bread and will even eat that portion from your bread. If the 2 kids start at the same time, u will find charlie already finished the outer crust while yy still "day dreaming" and holding onto his bread. These 2 pic are taken at the same time.

Playing with water color (17 may 09)

Beth is off duty today and levin is studying for his exam next week. So it is left with only me to handle the 2 kids. yy and charlie are playing with the water color set when I left them alone to do some laundry and cooking. In between yy did said that charlie was mixing up the paint, there are stain on her clothing and the floor etc etc. I was too busy cooking their lunch and when I went back to them........

Of course I am mad at both of them esp yy as he did not stop charlie from making such big mess. lucky the stain came off easily.

3 stitches (13 may 09)

13 may 7.30 pm

** This is going to be very lengthy as it was really a "dramatic" night

Charlie ran and hit her head right at the edge of the pillar at the void deck this evening when beth sent yy to his enrichment class down stair. By the time I reached home which is an hr later, beth has put a plaster over it but it is still bleeding. My girl was siting on the sofa happily enjoying her TV. Beth said that she was crying hard and bled alot earlier. Lucky we removed the plaster as it was only then I realised that the wound was so deep in about 0.5cm depth and abt 1.5cm long.

I brought her to the family doc. The doc told us to go direct to KK hospital for stitching up instead. By the time we reached KK, it was already 10.00pm . We waited till 11.30 pm for our turn to see the doc. Throughout the whole time, charlie was well and happy except when we touched her wound. The doc gave us 2 options. 1 is to inject anesthetic and let her sleep while the doc sew up the wound for her. The 2nd is to put numbing gel for 1/2 hr then stitch up the wound. We have initially opt for anesthetic as she started to tear once the doc touched her forehead. But after considering she has to go without any drink till 1 pm (3 hrs from 10pm ie her last slip of water) and after that, we can only leave after she woke up from the effect of the anesthetic which is at least another 2 hrs. We decided to opt for the second choice. Eventually we wait and wait. It was only by 1 pm before the doc see us again.

This is "best" part of the night, we went to the room where there was a small bed with belt like strap. We are being told that we only have to hold on to her when she is being stitch up not tight on the bed ! but there is no backing out at that point of time. Charlie was so traumatized when she was being tight on the bed. On top of that, the nurses even wrapped her up with a blanket and tugged the side beneath her body. I was also needed to hold her tight by resting my arms on her chest. Poor charlie she was trying real hard to struggle off and keep crying for me to carry her up. It's really pain me to see her going through all these. Fortunately the whole process only last for 5 min including the initial part where the doc has attempted 3 x before the first stitch was done properly. By the time we left the hospital it was already 1.30pm

14 may (1st day)

My silly gal happily posting for pic the next morning. Lucky she did not have any nightmare last night.

pic taken on the next day after the bandage is removed. The redness on her forehead is caused by the bandage which is to be removed after 24 hrs. My first thought was charlie will look like a scientific monster, Frankenstein, if the stitch is horizontally across and much longer (touch wood touch wood). Video taken on end of 1st night.

15 may 2009 (2nd day)

pic taken on 2nd day. It looks much better already.
The first day was scary.
16 may 2009 (3rd day)
The redness from the bandage is still obvious on the 3rd day. Charlie taking the whole things quite calmly, except when we need to touch her wound if not she is not affected by it at all.

17 may 2009 (4th day)

we tapped a gauze on her forehead when she is bathing to minimise wetting the wound. We are being told not to take long bath or go swimming for 2 weeks.

pic taken on 4th day. Wound has dried up alot making the stitches more obvious.

20 may (7th day)
23 may 2009 (10th day)
The wound has fully closed up, dried and scar dropped, but the stitches are still hanging there. We did tapped the wound with wet gauze after the 5th day trying to remove them but could not. After which we are so busy as both the kids are sick that we "conveniently" forgot and left it as it is.

27 may 2009 (14th day)

The stitches only starting to fell off (dissolve) today which is exactly 2 weeks as compared to the 5 day as told by the doc.
