Show and Tell (22 aug 10)

YY practising his show and tell for school. As usual, I have to draft him a short write up on his fav animal for him to recite in class. In the end I realised that I did a pretty good job working on the content. Unfortunately, all was wasted as yy told me his Chinese teacher told the class the content will not be taken into consideration as some children did it on their own with little help with their parents. It was fair but why cant the teacher tell us in adv.

This is only the first part. The second video is too big to upload.

SYOG competitions (21 - 22 Aug)

We went for a few YOG matches too. I am responsible for getting the ticket, planning in adv and Levin supposed to go with yy. Afterall, I'm not keen in sports at all and dont want to bore myself spending hrs siting there.

To my surprise, all the matches we went for are quite entertaining. Watching a live match is so much different from watching it on TV. Being an audience, hearing the crowd cheering, the MC making announcements, participants walking in, what is going on between breaks which are normally filed with advertisement on TV if you watching at home.

We went for the boxing match with janice. As usual, she dont want to be photographed.

Beside the match, janice and yy were busy munching and eating. In less than half an hr, Janice kept pestering me that she wanted to go get snacks to eat until I gave in.

Before the match started, there are a string of health and sport event held at the Suntec City where a couple of matches were held that day. YY and janice participated in the boxing training crush lesson.

YY and myself went for equestrian and football match on the next day.

For the equestrian competition, we are required to keep silent at all times inorder not to distract the horse performance and no flash photography.

In the evening, we rushed for the football match ~ Singapore vs Haiti. For all the 3 matches, there are quite a crowd trying to buy tickets outside the venue. Cannot figure out why cant they just get it in adv.

ps Singapore lost to Haiti 0 - 2 in this match.

Health Supplements (10 aug 10)

Ever since, Charlie started attending her 3 hrs nursery class. She has been failing ill every 2 weeks. Fever, cough, flu, diarrhea and vomit, turning their turns. Previously for yy, I gave up and switched him back to nanny barely a month when he had to visit doc every week. Partial being yy was only 2 years old then and I don’t have a domestic helper helping with the workload.

Medicine for her diarrhoea and vomit. Still got one more bottle inside the fridge.

This time, I hope I am more prepared. I will try to boost up Charlie’s immune system with the supplements I bought. They are colostrums, multi-vitamins and omega 3 6 9. The only issue will be I have to remember to feed her with them and when can I feed them if she always has to take medicine.

Different characters (10 aug 10)

Charlie and yy are of 2 extreme personalities. Charlie is more outspoken and daring while yy is more shy and quiet. He is not so daring to try out new things like bicycle or slides at playground. In addition to these, I cant help but notice that yy tends to keep his stuffs while Charlie will just use whatever is given to her.

Scenario 1 ~
When da yi yi gave them sticker, Charlie will give her stickers away or paste them on her water bottle, books, papers while yy will keep the stickers.

Scenario 2 ~
I bought both the kids one bottle of bubbles each. Charlie will kept on blowing and blowing, making bubbles. As for yy, he played with the bubbles blown by Charlie or tried to catch the bubbles. When I asked him why he was not blowing the bubbles, he replied saying he wanted to keep his bottle for the next round.

Scenario 3 ~
I got both the kids a set of blink pen (color pen with sprinkler). Yy will try means to keep his set away for his personal use and keep using Charlie’s pen when they are doing coloring together. This goes the same when I bought them a set of Crayola magic pen each. Not sure if such difference in behavior is due to the difference in their age or personality but I feel their character does play a critical role.

Left or Right ? (8 aug 10)

Charlie is a left handler. She writes, eats and draws with her left hand. My latest discovery, she even plays balls with her left hand. As for which foot she start to walk with, hmmmm I’m still monitoring. Do u notice which leg charlie walks with first.

SYOG torch rely (7 aug 10)

SYOG torch rely was spread 0ver a few days. After much consideration, we identified AMK as the most ideal spot to witness the reply. It was raining heavily that morning. We are all speculating if the event will be canceled. Nonetheless we still proceeded with it. As epected, there wasnt much crowd along the road. We waited and waited anxiously wonder if we had missed the rely.

Finally SYOG rely was here. We saw some police patrol cars followed by two huge YOG buses full of supporters on them.

The cheer team was cheering and screaming as the bus went pass. A young lady came down from the bus and started to mingle with the crowd infront of us. Followed by a few others dropping off from the bus, passing some YOG cheer balloons and noise maker to us. It all happened so fast as we are busy snapping photo and watching over the kids as we are standing along the roadside.

The kids sure had fun making so much noise cheering and jumping around.

After which, there was a complete "silent" for a few mins and we thought to ourselves was that all the torch rely was about ?

Finally the real action is here. Apparently the mini van of journalists and the torch holder were lagging very much behind. Good for us, we actually witnessed the change of torch between the holders right in front of us but partially blocked by the crowd. The young girl in red who had been "left behind" by the bus was actually one of the torch beholder. Should have insist on taking a photo with her.

Overall, if it's not for the kids, I will not be there :)
