Genting cum KL holiday trip (13 ~ 15 mar 09)

First Day - 13 Feb 09 (Sunny Day)
Left home before 7am. No jam at custom. The ride on the highway is rather smooth. But we missed the way out from highway and got "lost" in KL. We wasted a lot of time trapped in the terrible jam in KL. Then I realised that Levin did not even check for direction before we left happily thinking that his GPS is all he needs. Only managed to reach genting about 2pm. We did not stop for meal break at all. All of us are starving and tired especially the kids. But no one dare to complain as levin was the only driver thru the whole journey.

We stayed in First World Hotel. A neat and clean room to rest in. The weather is not very cold just nice for the kids. We had buffet dinner at the hotel. Do remind me not to try that anymore.

Charlie staring at the bumper car ride with envy. She is too short for the ride.

Finally charlie gets a car ride.

Charlie, mummy and beth enjoying the ferries wheel. yy refused to ride with us :(

This is their favourite ~ merry go round. We never expect charlie to like it. It is the usual slow and steady type of ride. We only went for it as our final stop before we headed back to the hotel room. In the end, charlie liked it so much that they continuously sit for abt 4 rounds. So boring......

Day 2 - 14 mar 2009 (sunny day in Genting / rain in KL)

We had buffet breakfast at the hotel. Lucky we have 3 adults and 2 kids cos it is like a mass canteen. Everywhere is long queue and mass production. People are like queueing for free food.

We went for the monorail ride before we left Genting. It is worth it as it covers quite a distance both in and outdoor. Levin was thinking of letting charlie ride on the car ride for one more time before we left. Only to realise that what charlie wants is to ride on the merry go round. She simply refused to sit on the car ride and kept going towards the merry go round. Made quite a fuss.

Within an hr, we reached Piccolo hotel in KL. It was a small but new and relatively nicely decorated hotel. The suite room we booked is big enough for one master bed, a baby cot, a small sofa, an arm chair and an additional bed for beth

We went to the nearby shopping mall for lunch followed by a monorail ride (which is our mrt) to the KL tower. Both the hotel and shopping mall staffs told us it is within walking distance from the monorail stn to the tower. Damn it! the actual dist is so far and some more up slope walk. Worse it was drizzling and when we thought we have finally reached the tower. We realised it was only a security stop where we are supposed to wait for the feeder service to the Tower. Can never trust them for direction again :( ps : KL tower is a viewing tower.

Day 3 - 15 mar 2009 (raining on our drive home)

Had buffet breakfast at the hotel. Then we drove out to the KL twin tower which is very near to the hotel. We spent some time outside taking pic. The twin tower is basically one big shopping mall with a garden at the rear door. They have a science centre and dinosaurs exhibition at the top floor. Did not go for it as the ticket for that hr were all sold out and left with ticket in the afternoon which is 2 hrs later. Could not figure out why they limit the selling of ticket for each hr.

So difficult to take family photo. We have to take at least 3 -4 times for each posture. Hoping there will be one without red eye, not blur and all of us looking at the camera with open eye.

We left for Singapore after a quick lunch at around 2pm. Reached Singapore after 7pm. We had no problem finding our way back onto the highway from KL but there was quite a jam at the causeway. Not sure if the kids enjoy the trip or not as the journey was a killer. Nothing much to do in KL except shopping which we did not. Genting was better with all the rides. Guess we will not be travelling for quite a while.

For me..... Home Sweet Home
