House painting 30 Nov

Papa decides to give the house a new coat of paint this year. He wanted to try some bold colors and we ended up with a strawberry shortcake house. hahaha...... pink for the living hall and master bedroom and pink / yellow for yy's bedroom. The rest of the area not mentioned are not painted at all. We made such a mess after 2 full weeks that we decided to wash up and clean up everything.

YY helps out with the painting. Although the area he paints is small but at least he did a pretty good job. This will be a good training ground for yy. For the next painting work in 5 years time, both papa and me will be too tired to do it ourselves. We will be relying on yy to do it :)

Charlie drawn on the wall again (29 nov 08)

This is not the first time charlie drawn on wall. She has the habit of scribbling on book, wall, sofa, ABC mat, book shelf. She also tends to tear pages from storybooks and bend the book corners. We have tried several methods including sweet-talk and physical punishment. So far none of them works for her.

east coast park 23 Nov 08

We went to East Coast today as part of the Dec Holiday Program for yy. It was raining heavily for the past few days but we still proceed with the outing today. We did not spend much time playing as it started to rain around 20 min of play.

Charlie keeping a look out for any change in weather

Charlie is willing to play this round. The previous time we visited the beach, she simply hugged tightly to us and screamed whenever we attempted to put her down.

Tour to Yault and Gardenia Bread factory (19 nov 08)

YY and me joined the factory tour today organised by the Chong Pang CC. There are many kids with parents and a handful aunties, coming in a group. First stop the Yault factory. The company respresentative gave us a detail briefing with video screening before the tour. She even use the microscope to illustrate to us that every drop of Yault contains "Live" bacteria. It is a good experience. Do u know that even the bottle is made in Singapore and Singapore Yault bottle is actually bigger than the other selling in SEA, although it is smaller than it competitor Vitagen.

Our second stop is a quick lunch at IMM. Follow by a visit to the Gardenia factory. Once we step into the factory floor, we can smell the bread aroma in the air. The factory is relatively small but fully automatic. The cooler is the most impressive. It is a big cyclinder tube with many trays in it. The freshly baked bread will go into the cooler while it is cool down before packing.

Rainforest Kidzworld at Singapore Zoo (16 nov 08)

Mummy bought us to the Zoo today. This is my third visit to the zoo and guo guo's XX times. I bet he has already lost count of the no of visit. The weather was good. We reached the zoo at around 1030 am. We managed to cover more than 1/2 of the zoo exhibits but most of the animals are not in sight. Like for eg, we only see 1 of the 2 polar bears, only 1 sea otter is swimming, no sight of the sloth, mouse deer and flying kangaroo at the fragile forest, no sight of animal at the Treetop Trail except one alligator.....

We had our lunch at KFC at the Rainforest Kidzworld. It's the latest addition at the Zoo. Other than KFC, there are new sectors like the wet play, river crossing (kids have to pull the rope to cross the river on a raft), cableway (a swing from one end to another), Kampung House and Petting Corner (did not visit that segment), Horse Carriage, Amphitheatre and Pony Rides (those ponies are so adorable and beautiful

We had some much fun at the wet play. We played in our outdoor clothing. Majority of the kids there came prepared in swimming costumes. It was so much fun even aunty and mummy joined in despite they dont have any spare clothes to change. We got so wet that mummy has to buy a towel for us at the shop nearby for $19.90 . We had to leave as the sky get dark but guo guo refused to go and keep insisting he wants to come back again.

Kidszone Graduation Concert (13 nov 08)

It's YY's school concert today. It was held at the Chong Pang CC. Unlike the concert by PCF Canberra, the school is not charging for the ticket. I was quite surprise and even called up the school to check. Since no ticket is needed, we went full force to support him.
YY only perform one dance. As usual, he is standing at the back and blocked by his friends. The costume is very nice with all the makeup and hairdo. - mummy

Hello Jupiter (7 nov 08)

Mummy brought guo guo to the Science Centre today cos the membership card is expiring soon. At the same time, she wants to bring guo guo to the stargazing at the Observatory next to the Omni Theatre. It is a free session on every Friday night from 7.50pm to 10pm. Although it is free, they have to get a complimentary ticket from the customer service near to Omni Theatre first. There is already a long queue up the stair when they reached. Lucky I did not join them as they queued for more than an hour.

The Observatory is very well organised. There are volunteers from school ensuring the queue is inorder. There is another staff stationed near to the telescope, explaining to you on what u can see on that night and another staff at the telescope station.

Guo guo saw a close up view of planet Jupiter. It is bright in color with an orangish ring around it and a size of a ten cent coin. Wow that is big comparing to what u see with your naked eye.

Quoted the following from the Science centre webpage :

The Science Centre Observatory is situated at the following geographical coordinates:1o 20' 03" N latitude103o 44' 14" E longitude15.27 m Height (m.s.l)It is one of the few observatories in the world located next to the Equator. Its unique position allows constellations in both the northern and southern celestial hemispheres to be observed and thus opens up more vistas in the sky for observers. The Observatory is endowed with a range of sophisticated facilities as well as a classroom for astronomy lessons, slide shows and public talks. The main telescope of the Observatory is a 40-cm Cassegrain reflector of combined focal length 520-cm. The sub-telescope is a 15-cm apochromatic

eXplorerkid Indoor Family Park (2 nov 08) - Part I

We visited the eXplorekid Park at Downtown East today. It looks rather the same as before the renovation except for the new additions like the cafe, cocoon, ice-skating ring, a ball shooting area, an obstacle and flying fox play. The entry fee only covers the mega maze, 2 ball pools and an indoor mountain climbing wall. Infact the other enclosed play are basically deserted except for the ball shooting area and cocoon (parents are resting there).

For guo guo and me, the mega play station is enough to keep us busy for the full 2 hrs. We jump and climb non-stop except for the compulsory breaks for water and toilet. I will dash back to the play ground once aunty let go of my hand.

I love the slide most. It was a long and steep one. Guo guo was so scared that u can see his expression changes mid way down the slide. He refused to do it again. As for me, I going full force for it. I will climb all the way to top level and slide down again and again. As for mummy, I think she is scared too. Aunty is as brave as me.

Ps : mummy was totally "out of shape" after the 2 hrs play. She felt so tired and worse the next morning her body ache too.

eXplorerkid Indoor Family Park (2 nov 08) - Part II

See how much FUN we had and this is only a small segment in the mega play station.

This ball pool below is meant for 3 yrs and above. There is another pool for 3 yrs and below but that really look uncomparable and shabby. It is a shallow pool with an area no bigger than 2 bath tubs. It's more like pool for 15mths and below.

This is more ideal for me. A bit deep for me but very safe as long I keep myself away from those rowdy older kids
